A half-day gathering to reflect on the world just as it is, to find our spirit and strength to respond with creative love, courage, and skill.
Join us to explore contemplative practices and meditation to embrace the Earth and the world a time of cultural and climate crisis. With practices from timeless traditions and contemporary modes, using reflection, dialogue, movement, interaction, and stillness, we’ll ground our hearts, tend our wounds, and deepen our gaze. These tools help us rebalance and reconnect to who we really are and to each other.
The workshop is offered by donation, so give at whatever level is meaningful and doable for you. The registration link requires a minimum $3 donation, but everyone is welcome. If you prefer not to pay now, or simply can’t, no problem. Just please let us know you are coming (it helps to know what size the gathering will be), and we’ll see you on November 16.Presenters: Living Earth founder Betsy Toll, seasoned climate and justice activist Barbara Ford, and butoh dancer, musician, and yoga instructor Kavita MacMillan offer this program. Betsy bows to Ram Dass, Neem Karoli Baba, Joanna Macy, and Roshi Joan Halifax. Barbara honors Joanna Macy as her primary teacher, among others. Kavita brings a number of lineages and offers them like flowers to Neem Karoli Baba.
In this time of escalating instability and danger, we’ll connect with the vast stillness of our hearts. Bowing to our love of the world, we’ll cultivate compassion for our pain, outrage, fear and sadness, and we’ll recognize our fundamental strength and joy.
